My treasure chest

Long time no see. I have been a very busy girl these past few months, working on some final university projects and my dissertation of course. I have also been very busy bidding on some amazing things on eBay.

I wanted to write a series of posts about the things I always look for and buy in 2nd hand, to showcase some of the prettiest things I have found. Here are two of them.

1. I am constantly drawn to everything and anything that glitters or sparkles, just like any other magpie really. This gold vintage jacket will be perfect for any black outfit for the nighttime, giving it that much needed pinch (punch more like) of glamour. It's sheer and light so it will be perfect for the summer. It is still waiting for its maiden voyage across Bournemouth, but for the time being it hangs on my window gathering the rays of the sun and reflecting them across my room.

2. I love vintage heels and these ones are the most comfortable pair I have ever come across. They have a ridiculous curvy block heel and that much needed platform to save me from sore toes. Needless to say these  heels give my 5'9'' frame that coveted amazon warrior look har har. I got these a few weeks back and have worn them out on several occasions, not once wincing at the state of my feet after a hard days night of boogieing down at the bar. On top of all this awesomeness, they are also made out of blue velvet (more on these two categories later on).

Accompanied here by a vintage necklace and a pair of sunnies I recently got.

Bird of paradise

I buy things constantly. Just never the things I really need like an external hard drive for my laptop or a camera tripod... Such a pain balancing my camera on a pile of stuff only to have it cut off a foot or the top of my head.

The wool coat below is one of the reasons why I love Finnish small town flea markets. I always have a massive haul when I go home. Small town people want to get rid of all the stuff I think is amazing and usually very cheap too . I'd scoured Ebay for wool coats but decided to wait until going home for Christmas. Good thing I did! I found two wool and cashmere-blend coats. They are warm and chic and didn't break the bank.

If I were inclined to make resolutions I would resolve to try and buy all my clothes 2nd hand in the year 2013.
