Let it fall, let it fall

It's raining all the time. It is also freezing. I've been planning to take my camera with me out into the streets to  be more active with photographing. Alas, in the rain it is impossible.

Snow day

Blimmin hell my fingers hurt! Why does learning the guitar have to be so painful? I'm starting to think I should  try learning with my other hand, surely the undeveloped muscles in my left hand are not built for this kind of torture. Hendrix and Cobain were on to something there...

I was awaken to a neighbourhood covered in a layer of snow. The schools are closed, people can work from home. Feel very cozy all of a sudden. A good day to stay indoors and practice some more.

I've been working on my dissertation for a few days now and the story is coming together. I haven't found anything quite this enjoyable and easy to write in a long while. Not since I was 16 and fanfiction-obsessed. 

Baby can I hold you tonight

Camera wobbly as hell today. Hence the awkward angles. Have ordered a tripod however, very excited, should make blogging a breeze!

Feeling the vibe of the 60s mini and paired it with a back combed do which could have been bigger and messier had I the time to do it right. My slick, thin hair make it pretty laborious too.

Bird of paradise

I buy things constantly. Just never the things I really need like an external hard drive for my laptop or a camera tripod... Such a pain balancing my camera on a pile of stuff only to have it cut off a foot or the top of my head.

The wool coat below is one of the reasons why I love Finnish small town flea markets. I always have a massive haul when I go home. Small town people want to get rid of all the stuff I think is amazing and usually very cheap too . I'd scoured Ebay for wool coats but decided to wait until going home for Christmas. Good thing I did! I found two wool and cashmere-blend coats. They are warm and chic and didn't break the bank.

If I were inclined to make resolutions I would resolve to try and buy all my clothes 2nd hand in the year 2013.

These boots are made for walking

Found said SD card after a bit of a rummage inside my underwear drawer. 

Here's a little something I've been working on today. I was about to throw these pretty little boots away just after a few wears, they have been sitting at the back of my cupboard for two years now. The darned English summer rain stained them so badly there was nothing to be done to salvage them. Or so I thought. I have been very inspired by different DIY blogs recently and have a list of things I want to try to do myself. 

I have been looking for a pair of silver shoes for a while now but luckily there's no need to buy a new pair since these babies will be ready to hit the street in 24 hours. And it cost me £2.50.

All you need to do is give the shoe a rub with a dry cloth to make sure there's no traces of dirt/dust. I didn't bother with masking tape but you can cover the soles/heel and insides of the shoe if you like. Shield the surface of whatever it is you're doing the spraying on with newspapers/cardboard etc. Don't spray too close and let the paint dry between layers. I only used one layer since I quite like the effect. Let dry for at least 24 hours before removing tape and wearing. 

I'm ready for the second coming of the space age.
